CI Motorsports Global Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy
At CI Motorsports, we stand behind our 550,000+ performance parts. Because racing and high-performance modification involve elevated mechanical and electrical risk, we publish this policy for transparency, safety, and global compliance regarding cancellations, returns, merchant processing costs, and fees.
Authorization required: All returns and cancellations must be approved by CI Motorsports before merchandise is shipped back. Approved returns are processed under a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Unauthorized returns may be refused.
Read our terms and conditions. If you believe your item qualifies, email [email protected] to begin the RMA process.
1. Return Windows & Refund Methods
- 30-Day RMA Window: Return requests must be initiated within 30 days of the original delivery date as shown on carrier tracking, subject to the timelines below.
- 0–15 Days From Your Delivery (Original Payment Refund): When we receive an eligible, authorized return within 15 days of your confirmed delivery date, we may refund the eligible product total to the original payment method, less any applicable restocking fees and less a 3% merchant/processing fee where that fee applies (see Cancellations & Fees).
- 16–30 Days From Your Delivery (Store Credit): Eligible returns received between day 16 and day 30 from your confirmed delivery date are eligible for store credit only, less applicable fees.
- PayPal Exception (Merchant Fee): The 3% merchant/processing deduction described above does not apply to orders paid via PayPal when otherwise eligible for refund to PayPal.
- Shipping Errors (Our Mistake): If CI Motorsports makes a shipping error, we will honor a full refund or exchange for the affected items and cover reasonable associated shipping costs we approve in writing for that resolution.
- Shipping Costs (General Returns): The customer is responsible for return freight. Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable except where we confirm a CI Motorsports shipping error (see above).
2. Cancellations, Restocking & Processing Fees
- Pre-Shipment Cancellations: Orders canceled before shipment may be subject to a 3% cancellation fee to cover non-refundable payment processing costs. This fee does not apply to orders paid via PayPal.
- After "Pulling & Packing" / Processing Stage: Orders canceled after reaching the warehouse processing stage (including after "Pulling & Packing") but before shipment may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% to cover labor, materials, and handling.
- Authorized Returns (General): Unless the return is required due to a CI Motorsports error we confirm in writing, authorized returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20%.
3. Condition Requirements (Strictly Enforced)
To protect safety and component integrity, returns are accepted only for products that are New and Unopened and meet all of the following:
- Brand-new, resalable condition in original manufacturer packaging.
- No signs of installation, use, modification, contamination, or damage.
- Non-returnable condition examples include: opened packaging, installed or bolted-on parts, "mocked up" fitment, grease/oil residue, scuffs from handling, or any indication the item was used or tested on a vehicle or bench in a way that prevents resale as new.
- If a part shows any sign of use inconsistent with an unopened new product, the return may be rejected or assessed additional fees at CI Motorsports' discretion.
- Kit / combo integrity: Items purchased as a kit or combo must be returned as the complete kit. Partial returns of individual items from a bundle are not accepted.
4. Non-Returnable & Final Sale Items
The following categories are considered Final Sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or store credit except where a mandatory consumer law requires otherwise or where a manufacturing defect path applies as stated below.
-
Electrical & fuel components: Including but not limited to stators, voltage regulators, CDI/ECU units, ignition coils, sensors, fuel pumps, and injectors.
Note: These items can be damaged when installed on a faulty system; we sell factory-new, untested units unless otherwise stated.
Defect exception: For verified manufacturing defects, resolution may follow manufacturer warranty/inspection requirements (see Defective or Damaged Items). - Engine internals: Pistons, rings, bearings, and valvetrain components (subject to the same defect/warranty coordination where applicable).
- Performance hardware: Turbochargers, clutch kits, and body parts (subject to manufacturer defect verification where applicable).
- Custom services / machining: Machine shop work once labor has commenced.
- Special-order & promotional inventory: Clearance, open-box, overstock deals, and items ordered specifically for a customer.
- International shipments (default): Unless CI Motorsports provides a written return authorization, international sales may be treated as final sale. When authorized, international returns remain subject to Section 8.
5. Special Orders, Custom Builds & Made-to-Order
- Items designated Special Order, Custom Built, or Made-to-Order are handled case-by-case and are generally non-returnable.
- Deposits: Special orders may require a 50% non-refundable deposit. If the buyer cancels after procurement/production has begun, the deposit may be forfeited.
- Fitment responsibility: The buyer is responsible for confirming specifications, compatibility, and build requirements for custom-ordered items.
6. Refused, Undeliverable & International Orders
- Refused delivery is not an authorized return method. Refused or undeliverable shipments may be processed as a return assessment; original shipping, return freight, and carrier return-to-sender fees may be deducted from any refund, and a restocking fee of up to 20% may apply.
- International (when authorized): The customer is responsible for all shipping, duties, taxes, brokerage, and return freight. Authorized international returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee unless CI Motorsports confirms a company error in writing.
7. Defective or Damaged Items
- Notify us within 7 days of delivery if an item arrives defective or damaged (include photos and packaging details when requested).
- For verified CI Motorsports errors or verified defects handled under an approved process, we may cover reasonable shipping we approve in advance.
- Many products are covered by a manufacturer warranty; CI Motorsports can assist with coordination, inspections, and next steps consistent with manufacturer requirements.
8. Refund Inspection & Posting Timelines
- Inspection: Eligible returns are typically inspected within 24–48 hours of receipt (excluding weekends/holidays and high-volume periods).
- Posting times: Approved refunds to credit/debit cards commonly post in 3–5 business days but may take up to 3–10 business days depending on the card issuer. PayPal refunds are often available shortly after processing.
9. Global Consumer Rights
- Australia (ACL): Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
- UK & EU: We respect the statutory 14-day "cooling-off" period for distance selling of standard stock items where applicable law requires it.
If any mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction provides rights that cannot be limited by contract, those rights apply to the extent required by law. This policy does not waive non-waivable rights.
