A flex disc, also known as a flex coupling, flex joint, or guibo (short for "guillotine"), is a flexible coupling used in vehicle drivetrains to connect the transmission or gearbox output shaft to the driveshaft. It is commonly found in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles.
